DOK of Assessment I Have Used Recently
I use mostly PBL's in my Earth science classes and rarely give a test. This means my assessments are of a culminating event by rubric. The DOK of the final product of our last project was three and four because it involved investigation, analysis, proof, and comparison?

Earth Science Weblog
This week students began studying the environmental problems associated with mining and burning coal. Students watched a video on the effects of acid rain in New England caused by burning coal to generate electricity in the Ohio valley. Students responded to the prompt, "Are the effects of acid rain serious enough to demand a reduction in smokestack emissions?" in a blog at Rick's Earth Science blog. The 21st century skill is using weblogs to communicate.
